CORPUS CHRISTI - Now is the time to set out your brush before the city starts handing out fines.
Beginning Sept. 13, crews will start the fall brush and bulky item sweep of the entire city and you are being asked to put out your brush now in order to have it picked up during the scheduled time.
An eight week collection starts next week beginning with Padre Island.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - At least two people died as the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine caused flooding in central and north Texas, submerging much of the city of Arlington under water.
Cleburne fire chief Clint Ishmael tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that a man drowned Wednesday afternoon after being swept away from firefighters who were trying to rescue him from a flooded creek north of Alvarado in Johnson County.
The man had been stranded in his pickup truck.

MEXICO CITY (AP) - A government spokesman says Mexican marines have arrested seven gunmen suspected of participating in the massacre of 72 Central and South American migrants near the U.S.
border.
Alejandro Poire says four of the suspects were arrested after a Sept. 3 shootout with marines.
The other three were arrested later.
He says the investigators believe the migrants were killed because they refused to work for the Zetas drug gang.

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Ruben Morales is a Vietnam Veteran, but the battle he launched on this day was in front of the county courthouse.

MANVEL, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a Houston-area man who broke into his former home and fatally shot his estranged wife was gunned down by his son.
Brazoria County sheriff's investigator Jeff Dandeneau said an ongoing divorce was a factors in the deaths Saturday of 70-year-old Karla J. Boone and 63-year-old Stanley R. Boone.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police say they still haven't arrested anyone for the murder of a 90-year-old woman.
The body of Tommie Koehn was found inside her home on Schanen Boulevard back on July 5th.
CCPD says they believe she was killed during a burglary gone wrong.
We're told a person of interest has been interviewed by police, but that person still hasn't been charged for Koehn's murder.
That person, however, is in jail on an unrelated charge.

CORPUS CHRISTI -- A man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting. Police arrested 19-year-old Mike Torres Tuesday at his home in the 700 block of Mohawk Street. Police say he is a known gang member. He was arrested for an outstanding aggravated assault warrant with a $50,000 bond.

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Nueces County Commissioners Court is approving efforts to expand Bob Hall Pier to create a more tourist-friendly environment.
The project will expand the pier to include an outdoor dining facility and other infrastructure.
The cost for the project is just under $900,000. Commissioners said in Wednesday's meeting that the project will increase revenue for the county by making the area more appealing to tourism.

ALICE -- A family lost everything after a fire ripped through their mobile home overnight.
The family says their home could have been saved if there was a better water source in the area.
The Lopez family was staying with a relative when a neighbor called them just after midnight to tell them their home was on fire. It's not clear how it started, but the family says the fact that there is no adequate water source for fire protection didn't help.

CORPUS CHRISTI - By early Tuesday afternoon, the rainclouds were beginning to dissipate in the skies over most of the Coastal Bend.
