CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Plentiful Gulf moisture, combined with moderate atmospheric instability, will allow significant rainfall over the Coastal Bend on Thursday, and a repeat is possible on Friday.
After a few quieter days, more beneficial rain is expected for the middle of next week.
Rain totaled over two inches over areas between Port Aransas and Tivoli, and a large region from near Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi across downtown received more than an inch.
Some localized street flooding occurred, and the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory that extended through mid-afternoon.
While more rain is expected on Friday, only isolated showers should occur through the weekend.
An upper-level low is expected to develop over South Texas mid-week, enhancing potential for more significant rain.
Highs will remain in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with lows in the middle-to-upper 70s.
