It will feel like it’s in the 20s for your Monday morning, and a few stray sleet pellets can’t be ruled out.

This morning

There will be some areas of precipitation around the Coastal Bend, and the cold temperatures may result in this falling as sleet—or tiny ice pellets. There should be NO impacts on roads, but you may hear some “pings” on your windows if a few sleet pellets manage to make it to the ground.

Wind chills will also be in the 20s this morning, so bundle up. Ol’ Man Winter isn’t fooling around.

This afternoon

Temperatures will do good to get out of the 30s today, and some drizzle and a few sleet pellets will continue to be possible into the afternoon.

Tonight

A freeze should be expected in the inland areas, especially north of I-37. However, it will be a very close call for the coastal counties. Be sure to check back this evening for the latest forecast low temperatures. Due to how close the temperatures may come to freezing, if you have sensitive vegetation or have already planted a few flowers, go ahead and cover them up. If they’re covered up, you won’t have to worry about it.
