Wednesday night brought unusually cool temperatures to the Coastal Bend, and it looks like Thursday night will attempt to repeat the trend.

Friday’s forecast

Temperatures will tumble overnight Thursday into early Friday morning, and by sunrise, we should be looking at temperatures near 70 degrees again for Corpus Christi and potentially a few more upper 60s for inland locations. This will result from nearly the same weather conditions occurring on Friday morning as what we saw on Thursday morning. Friday’s record low for Corpus Christi is 70 degrees, so the temperature would have to fall just as much as it did on Thursday morning to even tie the record.

As for the rest of Friday, expect a near repeat of Thursday—mostly sunny skies and highs in the 90s. We will be seeing a slight increase in moisture, which will likely bring in a few more clouds for Friday.

The weekend

Partly cloudy skies and low 90s are in the forecast for the weekend. The breeze will become elevated by late Saturday, but beyond that, the weather will be very summer-like across South Texas.

Chance of rain next week

Our weather pattern will change next week, which will bring in a chance of rain for Tuesday and Wednesday. The rain isn’t forecast to be extremely widespread, but it will be our first decent chance of rain in nearly two weeks.
