CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Trouble Shooters looks at a case of family who claims that a generator was stolen from their backyard last week.

This is home surveillance video taken by the Maldonado family.

They claim it shows a man stealing a generator from their backyard early on the morning of April 2.

The Maldonado's claim this is the same guy stealing a lawn mower from their backyard later that day, in broad daylight.

Juanita Maldonado ran out of her house to confront the guy and was very nearly run over.

"Neighbors were outside," she said. "They kind of saw the whole confrontation.

"After he loaded up the lawnmower, he tried to drive away. Tried to hit me with his vehicle. Hit a dog kennel and then ran into a ditch where he lost grip of the property he was taking. But he was able to get out of the car and load it up and leave."

Maldonado further claims this red bumper fell off the vehicle as he drove recklessly to get away.

Note the red car in this picture, taken by the Maldonado's. It shows the man and the car surrounded by Robstown Police outside a pawn shop, where the man brought the stolen equipment.

We spoke with manager at the pawn shop. When she found out more information about what was happening, she asked Robstown Police if she could give the lawn mower back and get her money back.

They told her it was a case being worked by the Corpus Christi Police Department.

We contacted CCPD. They said now that they have more information, they'll assign it to a detective for further investigation.
