Texas animal shelter launches program to temporarily “check out” dogs

A new program allows people to give shelter dogs a break from shelter life.

The program is called “Shelter Paws” and was launched today at the San Antonio Animal Care Services.

Anybody 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license can “check out” a dog for a minimum of two hours.
