CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man on vacation saved a little boy's life at the beach today.

Vacationer, David Ochoa was on the beach next to Bob Hall Pier with his family Friday afternoon. Ochoa says he heard his son scream. He was screaming because a seven-year-old boy washed up on the shore unconscious. Ochoa ran to the young boy whose lips were blue and saw that he wasn't breathing. Ochoa knew what to do.

"And I saw this little boy and I grabbed him, immediately and I put him on the shore and I just started CPR on him," David Ochoa remembers.

He is a missionary from Africa and a chaplain for a fire department in Colorado and is required to be certified in the life-saving procedure. His skills and persistence paid off.

"Yeah, he started throwing up water and throwing up and so he started to breathe on his own so it was a blessing," said Ochoa, "And I just kept on, kept on, his lips were blue and his belly was bloated but i didn't, i didn't quit. All thanks to God, he's gonna be okay."

Paramedics took the seven-year-old and his family to the hospital as a precaution.
