Severe weather moving across the city's west and northside have left thousands without power as strong thunderstorms swept through the Corpus Christi area Wednesday afternoon.
AEP Texas reported at 4:15 p.m. only 3,625 people were still left without power. That number is down from the more than 11,400 AEP customers reportedly without power at 2:30 p.m.
Estimated restoration times are around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
City Hall also temporarily was without power, and city officials were advising people to avoid the building Wednesday. Any payments due can be made at H-E-B or online, or in person on Thursday.
West Oso ISD students were released at 2:45 p.m. early because of the power outage.
