The Schoenstatat Boys' Walk is celebrating its 50th year since it started.

According to their website, the tradition began when four boys wanted to commemorate when Father Kentenich was ordained to the priesthood. Following in the footsteps of Father Kentenich, the founding boys considered a life in ministry on the walk. Since then the amount of young men participating in the walk has grown.

“We are very excited about this year because it’s the 50th Annual Boys’ Walk," Abel Gonzalez and Primo Garcia shared in their invitation, "We would really like for you to make this sacrifice with us.”

The walk begins this Saturday, June 13 at 5 am, at the Wayside Shrine, 2309 Marguerite Street. Walkers will walk all the way to St. Mary's Star of The Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass by 3 pm. Then, on Sunday, the walk will continue at 5 am and will end at the Schoenstatt Confidentia Shrine at Lamar about 3 pm. The walk eill br followed by a Holy Mass and then dinner.

If you are interested or have any questions about participating in the walk, contact the organizers through their email at schoenstattboyswalk@yahoo.com.
