CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there is plenty of time to form a team for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
This is the 11th year the walk is being held by the American Cancer Society. The 5K Walk raises fund for breast cancer research and treatment.
It's an inspiring event that honors breast cancer warriors, both past and present, and gives the community a chance to demonstrate that nobody walks alone.
"We are inviting all breast cancer survivors to come out and join us to learn about Making Strides against Breast Cancer, and to sign up for the walk, and to hear from our breast cancer Portraits of Hope survivors," said Kayla Hanson, Development Manager for the American Cancer Society Senior Community.
There will also be opportunities to buy a $10 raffle ticket to win a 2019 Pink Camaro. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is on Saturday, October 19 at 9 a.m.
