CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is reaching out to former Islanders who didn't finish school. They encourage them to finish their education and get their degrees.
In order to make that happen, the school is partnering with a program called ReUp Education.
"They have success coaches who can then help them with the financial elements of coming back to school, they can partner with our academic advisors to tell them what classes they would need, and those kinds of things," said Dr. Melissa Jarrell, Dean of University College.
ReUp Education coaches are already in contact with 2,000 former students. Since last month, 20 students have already decided to return.
Once they are re-enrolled, the ReUp Education Program provides support until they get their degree.
