CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local resident reached a big milestone on Friday. Ms. Odis Davis turned 105 years young. Friends and family helped in the celebrations. A big party was held for the birthday girl at the Villa Assisted Living Community. Ms. Odis was dressed up for the special occasion.
Ms. Davis shared some of her background during the festivities.
"So I'm a Texas girl," she proudly explained.
She grew up in east Texas and spent most of her time in Houston where she was a third grade teacher.
She says she has no secrets to living a long life.
