The former owner of J&G Armadillo's Tax Service, also known as Reals Tax Service, pled guilty to one count of defrauding the United States in federal court Wednesday.
Jeannette Villarreal, also known as Jeannette Cortez, along with her two daughters Leannette Villarreal and Zeannette Villarreal, admitted they prepared tax returns with inaccurate earnings and tax credits and fabricated charitable contributions to get bigger tax returns for their clients.
The women will be sentenced Oct. 6 in U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos' court. They face up to three years in federal prison and a $250,000 maximum fine.
They currently are out on bond.
