The first Corpus Christi baby of the new year – and the new decade – was born just a few hours after midnight.
And, it wasn’t easy.
Little Gianna Eubanks wasn’t due until Jan. 9, but gave her mom a new year’s surprise.
Brenna Eubanks says she was at home alone, about to take a bath, when the unexpected happened.
“The cramp came a little more,” she said. “I stood up to call somebody because I was home alone. Next thing you know my water broke and two minutes later she came. Like, in the bathtub.”
After a quick call to 911, Brenna and her baby were on their way to Spohn South.
Gianna's official time of birth is listed as 4:28 a.m.
The first baby of 2020 is a healthy one. She weighs in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measures 20 inches.
In a few days, she'll head home to join an 8-year-old brother and 3-year-old sister.
Congratulations to the Eubanks family.
