CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Port Aransas School District received good news Monday.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA has awarded the school district a $1million dollar grant. The money is reimbursement for the repairs made to the district's athletic facilities after Hurricane Harvey.

The high winds and storm surge from the 2017 hurricane trashed the tennis courts, the softball field and the running track. The winds also tore off a dugout roof and damaged lighting systems.
