ROCKPORT, Texas — The search is on in the Rockport Fulton area for Yoshi, the pet iguana.

She’s been missing since the Memorial Day weekend.

Yoshi is a family pet, and her family is really missing her. She seemed to ge along well with everybody in the family.

Anna Reed says she's raised Yoshi since she was a baby, Her boyfriend, Pete, her kids and other family pets, loved Yoshi.

Reed says she liked to lay on the deck and sunbathe.

“She doesn’t typically run off or climb trees, she just likes hanging out in the grass, eating flowers and clovers and things," Reed said.

When she and Yoshi were outside Friday afternoon, she got distracted briefly before realizing Yoshi was missing.

And now the search is on.

“The neighbors came out and started looking for her," Reed said. "People we don’t even know came out and actually started looking in the neighborhood for her."

Rockport police are looking for Yoshi, too.

Reed playfully describes Yoshi as a miniature dinosaur.

She’s 5 foot, weighs 10 pounds and is 12 years old.

Reed says there is no evidence Yoshi was taken by another animal or bird, but there is some evidence.

“There is evidence with Yoshi’s claws in the dirt, that she had been taken," she said.

Reed says there is a $1,000 reward for anyone who finds Yoshi and returns her.
