Alice Independent School District officials alerted district parents about new rules to reduce "invasive recordings" among students.
The message came from the office of the Superintendent and was sent via an alert system, Wednesday evening, Oct. 2. According to the notice, administration became aware of some students at William Adams Middle School who were inappropriately using their phones to illegally record other students. The incident is currently being investigated by police and the school.
The message reminds parents to talk to their students about inappropriate uses of technology and lays out some administrative measures to stunt the activity. Students will not be allowed to take phones on restroom breaks. Only one male and one female students will be allowed out during lunch time. Phones will be collected before athletic classes and returned afterwords.
