Update 7/24/19 3:50 p.m.: The Nueces County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 30-year-old John Rice from Corpus Christi. The M.E. stated Rice died from blunt force trauma.

A bicyclist was hit and killed late Tuesday night and now police are looking for the driver who hit him.
Authorities got the call around 7 a.m. on Northwest Boulevard near River Hill.
When police went to investigate, they found the body of a man in a nearby ditch.
Police say it appears he was hit while riding along Northwest Boulevard and was either thrown or dragged into the ditch.
The unidentified man was not wearing a helmet or safety vest.
Police say his bike also didn't have lights or safety reflectors.
Surveillance cameras in the area are being examined to see if they captured anything.
