Robstown leaders and residents call media article unfair

Robstown has been named the worst city in Texas to live in.  That’s according to an article, published in USA Today.
The article cites crime rate, unemployment and the value of homes as just some of the reasons for the rating.  But those who live and work in Robstown say they were never contacted for this story and say it’s an unfair label.

“When they were like ‘sorry Robstown’, it’s offensive to most of our folks because there’s no apology needed, not from us.  We love our town,” stated Herman Rodriguez, Robstown City Manager.

Rodriguez adds that the crime rate number used in the article is incorrect. He says the City has addressed this with the FBI and DPS.
Rodriguez says he doesn’t understand why it was still used in the list to rank the city.
