A woman ran over her 12-year-old son this morning as she dropped him off at school.
A boy was being dropped off at Crockett Elementary when he dropped his backpack as he got out of his mom’s truck.
He was trying to pick up some papers that fell out and apparently, his mom didn’t realize he was still next to the truck.
She ran over him as she drove off.
“In a situation like this, what you should do is probably get out of the car with your child and make sure that he or she is clear of the vehicle and on their way to class before you decide to take off,” said Richard Olden of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Fortunately, the youngster’s injuries were not life-threatening.
He was taken Driscoll Children’s Hospital to be checked out.
