Man’s Truck Struck by Lightning During Morning Storm

As the rain was coming down this morning, a man was driving westbound on SPID, when his truck was struck by lightning.
But when we went to look at it late Friday afternoon, we were surprised, because it was untouched. Unscathed.
It just doesn’t run. At all.

David Amar says as soon as the lightning struck his truck, it just stopped running.
Smoke began to fill the cab.
So he jumped out as quickly as he could, and called 9-1-1.
The truck eventually rolled to a stop.
A good samaritan stopped traffic.
And no one was hurt, although Amar is shaken up by the experience.

“You must have been scared out of your mind ? You ever been that scared ? I’m still shaking. I’m still shaking. I’ve been scared before in my life. I served my country in Israel. I’ve been in more bad situations, but it scared me too. This scared me too.”

Amar says the truck, a 2017 Ford 150 Raptor, was towed to a local auto dealership, where it sits tonight, until his insurance company can check it out and decide whether to have it fixed.
