Sand, suds and sea, it’s all going down at the Texas Sandfest

Texas SandFest is underway and Port Aransas is set to receive thousands of visitors this weekend .

The festival kicked off today and runs through Sunday in Port Aransas between beach markers 9 and 13.

The event is known for featuring some of the best sand sculptors in the world, and is expected to draw thousands of beach goers over the weekend.

Admission to the festival is $15 for teens and adults, $5 for kids 6 through 12, and free for kids 5 and under.

With heavy crowds anticipated, RTA buses will shuttle festival goers from Roberts Point Park, to the SandFest site.  Parking at Roberts Point Park is free, but there is a 75 cent per person fee to ride the shuttle.

 

Free golf cart shuttles will also be available to ferry visitors to the festival. Golf carts will pick up at the beach-end of Access Road 1-A and at the remote parking lot at Gracie’s Way and Access Road 1-A.
