Sunday morning’s storms produced a weak tornado near Beeville, causing damage at a local airport.
The National Weather Service rated the tornado as an EF-0—the lowest category on the Fujita Scale. Wind speeds reached 85 mph as the tornado tore through Chase Field southeast of Beeville. The tornado was on the ground for approximately one minute and for about one -half mile.
The NWS reported nearly 50 RV’s damaged or destroyed as well as several mobile homes blown over. The tornado also damaged the roofs of numerous airport hangers.
No injuries were reported.
