A new movie theater is being built in Aransas Pass.
Today, the management and owners broke ground on Movies Inc. The new theater will be on Highway 35 between Allen Samuels and the Butter Churn restaurant. The aviation-themed theater will have a state of the art projection equipment and sound system and leather stadium seats.
It’s been decades since there was a movie theater in Aransas Pass. And the one in Rockport was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. The president of Movies Inc. says they wanted to be in a central location to serve several cities and communities. They say it’s the same distance from Rockport, Ingleside, and Taft.
There’s no word on when it’s expected to open.
