A United States Air Force Veteran is not expected to have anyone attend his funeral Monday.
Sgt. Andrew Cavazos Ybarra will be laid to rest on Monday at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
Members of the Coastal Bend community are encouraged to attend, to ensure that the United States Air Force Veteran is not buried alone.
Sgt. Andrew Cavazos Ybarra served in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1979.
Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman, George P. Bush, announced that the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery staff will coordinate with the local honor guard to ensure that Ybarra will receive full military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the ceremony, the On-site Representatives of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Ybarra’s behalf.
The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind.
