Local Spring Breakers rescued a couple trapped in their vehicle after a rollover accident.
Mike and Karen King were in their antique 1926 Ford Model T when they had some sort of mechanical failure near the JFK Causeway on Sunday evening. The car rolled over and trapped Mike under it. A group of college students on Spring Break stopped and rushed to their aid.
“At that moment we had so much adrenaline. We had to get him out. He was stuck underneath the car and his wife was in the car so we had to get them back out was to pick up and lift off,” said one of the heroic Spring Breakers.
“Thank you, because without them we don’t know how long we would’ve stayed there. Mike could’ve lost more blood; it’s just the whole thing would’ve been worse had they not been there,” said Karen King.
Karen was released from the hospital the day after the accident. Her husband remains in the hospital in serious condition with 2 broken hips.
