JP Luby Beach near Zahn Road is a hotspot for spring breakers and to keep visitors protected multiple agencies are stepping in to patrol the area.

Corpus Christi Police says much traffic is expected during this spring break season and that safety is key.

Visitors will need to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Pallets are not allowed on the beach because they can leave behind nails and that can cause injuries.

Emergency response officials also say before you enter beach waters know that these waters along with windy weather conditions could produce rip currents.

Police advise against drinking alcoholic beverages and going into the water.
