Several drivers with the need for speed were busted in a weekend police operation. The Corpus Christi Police Department arrested ten drivers racing in the area of North Shoreline Boulevard.
The police department received multiple complaints about racing in the area of North Shoreline Boulevard. Officers arrested ten drivers on Friday and Saturday and charged them with racing on a highway. The arrests were made between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Three of the drivers were also charged with reckless driving. Police say those drivers put bystanders in danger. Four separate traffic citations were also issued.
A Public Informations Officer with CCPD says that drag racing is a common occurrence around the city. The force will focus on operations in areas where complaints are being made including SPID and Saratoga.
