Today, the Catholic school held its final round of its own Amazing Shake Competition. Students who took part learned about etiquette, discipline, self-confidence and the art of a good handshake. The final ten students competed in a recent contest at Ed Hicks Imports where they recreated car commercials.
The competition is designed to teach students soft skills that they will need in their professional endeavors.
“I was a shy short kid who no one took too personally, and no one took me seriously,” said seventh-grader, Annabelle Clark, “But since this competition, everyone’s rooting for me cause I’m in the finals and I’m just really happy to be part of this program.”
The three top IWA students in the competition will go to the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia on February 9th to compete with other students from across the nation.
