Constable’s office seeks donations for kids after mother was murdered

The Jim Wells County Precinct 5 Constable’s office is seeking donations for two children who recently lost their mother and father.

Last Friday, the children’s mother, 28-year-old Melissa Arredondo’s body was found in Orange Grove, her estranged husband, the suspect in the case, killed himself over the weekend.

“Two children were left without their mom before the holidays,” says Constable Robert Vasquez.

After learning the mother planned to purchase presents on the day she was killed, Constable Robert Vasquez decided to help by hosting a toy drive for the two kids.

“They are a part of our community and we’re here for them, and we just want to show our love and support,” says Vasquez.

Vasquez will be collecting gifts until Friday, Dec. 21. He will be delivering them to the family on Christmas Eve.

Gifts ideas for the 8-year-old girl:

  • Board games, slim kits, bows, and JoJo Siwa stuff
  • Size 7/8 in clothes
  • Size 1.5 in shoes

For the 4-year-old boy:

  • Cars, trucks, rampage toys, fishing toys
  • Size 4T-5T in clothes

Gifts can be dropped off at the Jim Wells Constable’s Office Precinct 5.
