A home security camera recorded video of two vandals using some kind of liquid to damage two Mercedes coupes and a Ford F150 Platinum Edition pickup truck in a front driveway in the Calallen-area early Tuesday morning.

“I was in disbelief,” Tracy McCall said about finding the damage to her car, her daughter’s car, and her husband’s truck. “Right now my concern is for the safety of my family.”

It’s unclear what liquid the vandals used. One possibility is paint-thinner, because the cars and truck have spots and streaks of removed paint presumably where the liquid made contact.

“All three will need a complete paint job from front to end,” McCall said of her family’s damaged vehicles.

McCall says that her insurance company assessed the damage and valued it at $45,000. Her family is offering a $5,000 reward that leads to the vandals’ arrests.

“Whoever it is, I think $5,000 is going to have somebody talk,” she said.

McCall is also being proactive as police investigate her family’s case. She says she’s visited numerous hardware stores and other businesses that sell paint thinner and other chemicals that the vandals could have used.

“They’ve even welcomed me to come in with an officer and sit down and watch video footage,” she said.
