It was a very special day for Native Americans in the Corpus Christi.
That’s because Mayor Joe McComb of Corpus Christi declared October 23, 2018, “Indigenous Tribes of the Coastal Bend Day.”
The proclamation was made before a city council meeting.
City Councilman District Member Greg Smith said it’s important to recognize the Native American community of the Coastal Bend.
McComb asked educators and citizens to honor, respect, and remember their culture by watching educational programs or take part in Native American activities.
