If you are out with family and friends at McGee Beach or Sherrill Park you will no longer have to leave the area to go get food.

Starting Wednesday food trucks will always be available at Waters Edge Park.

It is part of the initiative to bring more people to the shoreline, which now includes a dog park, bathroom and parking lot.

So far six vendors have been approved; one of them is the popular Taco Bar Street.

They say they are looking forward to catering to people throughout the week.

“There’s people going to the beach, there’s people on the seawall, there’s people using that brand new park playing basketball right next door,” says Taco Bar Street owner Benjamin Carrizalez.” It’s going to be a good location… Especially during summer time, springtime when there’s a lot of tourists.”

If you are interested in the food truck business, you can now apply for a city beach and park vendor permit.

The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department currently has two spots at Cole Park and 10 on city beaches available.

It’s a six-month permit. To apply visits the City of Corpus Christi website.
