Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (NASCC) confirmed the first case of COVID-19 among their population.

Commanding Officer, Captain Christopher C. Jason shared the information in an online video post.

"I do want to let you know that we have a confirmed case of COVID-19 in that NAS base population," the Captain said in the video.

The NAS base population Captain Jason is referencing applies to base employees, base residents, and military dependents.

This is the first confirmed case reported in the NASCC population and the base says they are handling it according to the CDC's guidelines.

"The individual is currently isolated in their residence," said Captain Jason, "They are restricted in movement, following all CDC and Navy Medicine guidelines."
