With 14 local coronavirus cases reported, health department officials announced that they are looking at adding more drive-thru testing events.
Annette Rodriguez of the city/county health department said at a Wednesday press conference her department now has 45 people on telephones answering coronavirus-related questions. A retired physician has also joined their staff to answer questions.
City officials also reported that camping at Labonte Park and West Guth Park will be closed during this Easter holiday weekend.
The city also has announced that a local lab has been used for the first time to test local coronavirus tests. The lab is one of 10 in the states that is taking COVID-19 tests.
Rodriguez also explained how her department now is "contact sourcing". She said they ask those who've tested positive where they've been in the last 14 days.
They will even look over the patients credit card statements to see where they've been during that time to determine who they may have come in contact with.
