Rockport Warriors United has become a home away from home for veterans in the Coastal Bend.

“It’s evolved, we’re not just a retreat, we’re a safe haven for these vets to come to, this is their safe place,” says owner, Dave Jones. Jones and his wife Tracy opened Rockport Warriors United a year ago. Hoping to give veterans a sense of comfort and love for serving our country.

With different therapy techniques, such as equine therapy that involves the care of horses, as well as fishing trips, field trips to events, Rockport Warriors United builds the camaraderie between veterans.

Rockport Warriors United were also honored with the Commanders Award on Thursday by the Rockport USMC Toys for Tots organization for their donations and help over the past year.

This year, they will be celebrating their one year anniversary at the facility off of 1130 Linden St, in Rockport, TX
