Portland Parks and Recreation Department hosts holiday child care

Posted

The day after Christmas, children were busy making crafts at T.M. Clark Elementary in Portland.

Its part of an all-day recreation program, Portland’s Parks and Recreation Department hosts every school holiday and teacher in-service days, to help working moms and dads.

“They know where their kids are and know that they’re safe,” says supervisor Gabriella Sacky.

“When your parents are out working, you get to have more fun, more friends,” say kids attending Kidz Dayz.

Supervisors keep children busy with arts and crafts, board games, outdoor activities, and movies.

They provide snacks throughout the day but students are required to bring a lunch.

Children say the best part is making new friends.

Kidz Dayz is available to kids in Portland and surrounding cities, ages 5 to 12.
