Warm welcomes, smiles and free food could be found at People’s Restaurant & Lounge Christmas day.

The restaurant opened for the fourth year in a row, providing free holiday meals for everyone.

A tradition owner Joe Gonzalez and his wife started, to make sure no one feels alone on the holidays.

“It’s a feel-good type of event, all it is, is time to spend for our side to kind of cook up, as far as what it costs, it doesn’t cost much to feed someone,” says owner Joe Gonzalez.

Gonzalez says they prepared food enough to feed 500 people. Volunteers also delivered food to the ARK, a local youth shelter.

“What this day is, is the birthday of Jesus Christ, that’s what we want to show, that love and to give back to a community that’s loved us,” says volunteer Debby Ogle.

Gonzalez says they will continue hosting the event for as long as they can.
