In less than a month, Flour Bluff firefighters will trade their suits for Christmas Gear.

The 62nd Annual Christmas Float starts December 9th and runs until December 16th.

The department is looking for volunteers to fill up 9,500 candy bags; so far they have over 6,000.

If you are interested in helping continue this Christmas tradition, you can stop by the Nueces County Emergency Service District Station #2, located 337 Yorktown Blvd.

Anytime from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Flour Bluff Fire chief Dale Scott, says it’s the event helps firefighters get to know the community.

“It gives us a chance to interact with the community in a non-emergency situation,” says Fire Chief Dale Scott.  “We do see them a lot of times at their worse and this is a nice way to interact where they can come in and get to know us bagging candy and we get to know them.”
