You can have cell phones pulled out of the goal post and other prop-driven football celebrations.

All of those don’t scratch the surface of Jon Gott’s foamy celebration after the Canadian Football League’s Ottawa RedBlacks capped their regular season with a victory over Toronto to earn a division title.

After Ottawa scored a clinching touchdown, the 6-foot-3, 297-pound Gott ran to his girlfriend in the stands, who handed him a cold beer. Gott grabbed it and slaked his thirst in a couple of mighty swigs, smashing the can on his helmet with the beer cascading down his burly beard.

The You Tube feature captures the moment in more detail.

Gott told Sportsnet he had been scheming about the touchdown four years ago, but finally decided to let it rip over the weekend.

“I got a little thirsty and I thought I’d quench it,”  the former Boise State standout said. “That was fun, it was all in fun. It was the last regular-season game … It was all in good fun, so hopefully, I don’t get in trouble too much.”

Sportsnet reports Gott will not be fined for his foamy celebration. And even better, Ottawa finished the regular season with an 11-7 record, nailing down the Eastern Division championship.
