Crews are finally tearing down an eyesore that has been attracting transients for years.
A home that once stood on Third Street and Buford near Gaslight Square was demolished under the City’s directions.
The dilapidated house was known to be a place where homeless people camped out and illicit activity would take place.
Last February, the home was gutted by a fire that may have been started by a homeless person.
The City is fronting the cost to clean up the property but once the work is done, the property owner will have to reimburse the City.
