South Texas is under the firm grip of high pressure, and this won’t be changing through the weekend. The hot weather looks to stick around for the next several days.
The sun will make outdoor plans possible, but the heat will make them very undesirable. Highs will be in the mid-90s for Corpus Christi, but get ready for some 100s in the inland areas. The humidity will boost the heat index to over 105 degrees. If you have to be outside, make sure to take very frequent breaks in the air conditioning and drink lots of water.
The start of the week
As we start next week, Sunday will bring more of what Saturday brings. Temperatures may be slightly warmer, so still take it easy if you’re planning to be outside.
The pattern won’t change much even through the middle of next week. The bulk of the high pressure system will move westward, but its influence will still be plenty prevalent across the state.
