The heat is now reaching levels that are considered dangerous for those outside. A heat advisory has been issued for parts of the Coastal Bend including Corpus Christi for Thursday afternoon.

Ending the week

We’re heading for a high near 95 degrees in Corpus Christi, but the century mark will show up in many locations throughout the region. Of course, when the humidity gets factored in, the heat index will easily surpass 100 degrees with many locations seeing those values between 110 and 115 degrees.

A heat advisory is in effect for portions of the Coastal Bend on Thursday. This is warning of the heat index values that are predicted to be over 110 degrees in the area. Try to avoid outdoor activity if possible, as heat illness such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion will set in quickly. If you must be outdoors, take frequent breaks in the air conditioning and drink lots of water.

High pressure will continue to dominate the area and strengthen over the weekend. This will result in the warmest days so far this year occurring on Sunday and Monday.
