During the summer months, blood donations are on the decline due to schools going on break and many residents going on vacation.
The Blood Center provided a fun and convenient way for donors to give the gift of life with their Boot’s N’ Badges Kick-Off Blood Drive on July 17, 2018.
In exchange for a pint of blood, every donor received e a complimentary t-shirt and a voucher for 2 Corpus Christi Hooks tickets.
The life-saving competition between area law enforcement and fire fighting entities is to see whether “boots” or “badges” can bring in the most blood donations during the two week challenge, July 15, 2018 – July 28, 2018.
While this blood drive series is a celebration, it is a celebration with a purpose, as the Blood Center must work to ensure a stable blood supply throughout the year.
