Corpus Christi Fire Fighters say a lightning strike may have been the cause of a house fire in the 1300 block of Brentwood Drive this afternoon.
According to CCFD, residents reported hearing a loud bang, followed by flickering lights at the house before reporting the fire at 12:25 p.m.
Fighting the weather as well as the flames, crews had the fire out in a matter of minutes.
Investigators were not on scene to determine the cause of the fire, but Frank Solanski with CCFD’s Battalion 2 says it appears that a lightning strike likely caused the blaze.
Solanski says there were no injuries, and that the homeowners did a good job of getting everyone out of the home quickly before calling to report the fire.
