HARMONTOWN, Miss. (AP) – A Mississippi man is facing multiple charges after investigators say he molested children in a home day care run by his wife.

News outlets report that 46-year-old John Westmoreland of Harmontown is charged with six counts of touching a child for lustful purposes.

The Lafayette (lah-FAY-ette) County Sheriff’s Department says Westmoreland is accused of improperly touching girls between the ages of 10 and 12. Investigators say it happened during a span of six months.

His wife has not been charged.

Westmoreland was booked into the Lafayette County jail for one charge Tuesday, and the other charges were added Friday. Bond was set at $750,000. It was not immediately clear whether he is represented by an attorney.
