Milauni Williams is a 10-year-old track star.

She’s been competing for about 5 years now and runs the 100, 200 and 400

The young star says she got into running while trying to keep up with her older brothers and sisters.

"I would start running along. I would just start running and we just started doing track," said Williams.

Milauni is a strong and healthy ten-year-old but this wasn’t always the case. During her mother’s pregnancy, Milauni was diagnosed with a spinal condition.

"I left it up to God and I just prayed about it and asked God to do whatever it is with his will. Whatever he wanted to do and He healed her," said Sherise Williams, Milauni’s mom.

And He made her fast. Milauni travels around Texas running. She’s competed in San Antonio, Austin, and Marion.

Good enough to qualify for the Junior Olympics held in Des Moines Iowa later this month.

"I’m pretty excited because now I can see what it’s like to run against people that are pressuring me and not and not running just in front of them. Now I can see what its like to be pressured and start getting faster," said Milauni.

You could make a difference by helping send Milauni to the Junior Olympics in Des Moines Iowa.

They will be raising money for the trip by selling chicken and sausage plates for eight dollars.

You can go on Saturday the 21st, that’s two weeks from tomorrow, to Riley’s Pub on Yorktown.

If you can’t make it, I’m sure you can go by and drop off a donation.
