An accident involving an 18-wheeler had traffic backed up on the Nueces Bay Causeway earlier today.
According to Corpus Christi Police, an 18 wheeler headed north on US 181 collided with another vehicle just after 11 a.m., causing it to go across three lanes of traffic, before colliding with the median and finally coming to a stop, dangling between the north and southbound lanes.
The driver of the car stopped at Indian Point Park in Portland, and was attended to by medics.
The truck driver was able to make it out of the rig, and was cleared by medics at the scene.
A wrecker crew was on scene on the scene trying to remove the stuck big rig, and traffic began to flow normally around 1:30 p.m.
Police say the truck driver could be cited for failure to control speed.
