One restaurant made the Kitchen Cops Report twice.

Earning a perfect score is Aqui Es located at 4043 Ayers.

Denny’s located at 2931 Highway 77 scored a 100.

Hester’s Café & Coffee Bar located at 1902 Shoreline scored a 100.

Pier 99 located at 2822 Shoreline earned two separate scores.

The patio area scored a 100.

The kitchen area scored a 92.

Earning a spot on the A-list with a 99 is Pizza State located at 6133 Alameda.

McDonald’s located at 1610 South Padre Island Drive scored a 98.

The Mess Deck located at 2914 Shoreline scored a 98.

Whataburger located at 5114 Weber scored a 97.

Thai Cottage located at 5830 Mcardle scored a 97.

Taqueria Mi Ranchito located at 6116 Ayers scored a 97.

Black Sheep Bistro located at 15001 South Padre Island Drive scored a 97.

Dairy Queen located at 11101 Leopard scored a 98.

Domino’s Pizza located at 2602 Waldron scored a 96.

Taco Bell located at 2201 Morgan scored a 96.

Subway located at 526 Enterprise scored a 95.

Johnny’s Food To Go located at 521 Old Robstown Road scored a 95.

Gordo’s Soup-Er-Bowl located at 4506 Baldwin scored a 95.

Island Joe’s Coffee located at 13919 South Padre Island Drive scored a 95.

Shabu Shabu Hot Pot & Grill located at 6042 South Padre Island Drive scored a 94.

Acapulco’s Mexican Restaurant located at 5937 Mcardle scored a 93.

Taqueria La Tapatia located at 4503 Kostoryz scored a 93.

Taqueria Acapulco located at 1133 Airline scored a 92.

Nano’s Taco Run located at 4722 Holly scored a 92.

Fermins Mexican Restaurant located at 3922 Highway 77 scored a 92.

El Sol De Mexico located at 4425 Alameda scored a 91.

Dropping down to the B-list with an 87 is La Palma Mexican Restaurant located at 15326 South Padre Island Drive.

Violations included raw meat stored above cooked, trays of food stored on the floor, dirty soda nozzles, employees not washing their hands, wiping towels were not stored properly, scoops were not stored correctly, food containers were not labeled and a ceiling leak needed to be repaired.

Chili’s located at 4120 Highway 77 scored an 85.

The restaurant lost points because fries and corn were stored on the freezer floor, a dirty slicer, a dirty can opener and food stored near chemicals.

Other violations included missing thermometers, no towels, dishes were stored in the hand washing sink, employees were not wearing beard guards, employee cups needed lids, employees were not wearing hair nets and wiping clothes were not stored properly.

Taqueria La Cabana located at 10669 Leopard scored an 84.

Health inspectors found raw meat stored above cooked, pans stacked on top of each other, employees were not washing their hands, chemicals were stored near food and the cooler and freezer were kept at the wrong temperature.

Other violations included roaches, employees not wearing beard guards, wiping towels were not stored properly, scoops were not stored properly and food containers were not labeled.
