FALFURRIAS – Border Patrol stopped a woman from smuggling a child into the United States this past weekend. According to a press release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, a female driver with two children was stopped at the Falfurrias checkpoint on Saturday
The woman’s vehicle was inspected and she was asked questions about the two children in her car. It turns out that one of the children was hers but the other was not though she was claiming both as her own. She provided birth certificates for both of the children, but agents discovered that one of the children was actually an undocumented seven-year-old Honduran national, who not related to the driver or the other child.
Agents arrested the driver and the case is under investigation.
